Hospice services are covered by Medicare Part A and most major Health Insurance Companies as well as New York State Medicaid.
You can receive Hospice care even if you live longer than six months, provided your doctor certifies you are terminally ill. If your health improves you can go off hospice care but can return should the need arise.
Even though a doctor is a part of the Hospice team, you can choose to use your regular doctor, who might not be part of the hospice, to get care.
If you are eligible for Medicare, you pay no more than $5 for each prescription drug and other similar products.
