Fred S. Schwartz MD, Medical Director of Hospice of New York, is one of the foremost palliative care physicians in the country. Both Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, he has been with Hospice of New York since January of 2003. He also maintains appointments as Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cornell University and Clinical Instructor, Dept. of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Schwartz’s previous appointments include Medical Director of Hospice Care at Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Medical Director of NYC EMS Telemetry Control, Director of Emergency Services at Beth Israel Hospital and Director of the Emergency Department at Beekman Downtown Hospital.
His hands on approach, soft spoken manner and faultless instincts have made patients and their loved ones feel a sense of caring and security important at such a critical time.
